The Greedy Dog

The Greedy Dog : Once there was a brown dog. His name was Doy. He was a greedy dog - he always wanted everything for himself.

One day, Doy was very hungry. He started looking for food here and there. After some time, he saw a yummy bone. He quickly ran towards the bone and happily picked it up in his mouth. He started walking back to his home to eat it alone.

On his way home, Doy had to cross a river. He had to walk over a bridge to go the other side. As he was walking with his bone in his mouth, Doy looked into the water.

Doy saw a brown dog in the water. He did not realize that the dog in the water was his own reflection. Doy thought that there is another dog in the water and he is holding a bone in his mouth too.

Greedy as he was, Doy thought, " I will scare the dog in the water and take the bone away from him. Then I will have two bones."

Doy looked at the dog in the water and growled. The reflection growled back too. This made Doy very angry. So, he looked at his reflection and barked, "Bow! bow!" The moment he opened his mouth, the bone from his mouth fell into the water.

It was only when the water splashed, did Doy realize that what he saw in the water was not another dog, but his own reflection.

Doy lost his bone and went home very hungry. He decided that he would never be greedy again

The Wise Goats

The Wise Goats : Once upon a time, there was a forest. There were many green trees and plants in the forest. Many animals lives in this forest. Among them, there were two goats - Billy and Willy.

Billy and Willy goats were good friends. Everyday, the went in search of food together. They would share their food and also play around in the forest happily.

There was a stream of water that divided the forest into two parts. there was a small and narrow bridge made up of the trunk of an old tree to cross the stream . It was so narrow that only one animal could cross it at a time.

One day Billy Goat and Willy Got came to be the bridge facing each other. Willy told Billy, "Only one of us can cross the bridge at a time. What will we do now?"

The two goats began to think and Billy got an idea. He told Willy, "I will sit down on the bridge and you step over my body and move ahead. This way you cross the bridge. Then, I will get up and go to the other side."

Willy liked the idea and so, Billy sat down on the bridge while Willy goat stepped over her very carefully. Once Willy crossed the bridge, Billy got up and went ahead.

Willy said 'Thank you' to Billy as both of them were able to cross the bridge safely.

The Fox and The Crow

The Fox and The Crow : It was a hot sunny day. Crony, the crow was very hungry and he could not find anything to eat. So, he went flying far away in search of food.

He went and sat on a tall tree to look around for food and he saw a piece of bread. At last, he was very happy.

Crony took the piece of bread and flew to a tree. He sat on the branch of a tree and was about to begin his meal.

At that time Fenny, the clever fox was passing by from under the tree. He saw the piece of bread in the crow's mouth. Fenny was hungry too. Seeing the piece of bread in crow's beak, his mouth began to water.

He thougth, "If I make the crow open his mouth, then the bread will fall down. I will take the piece of bread and eat it."

Fenny, the fox went and stood below the tree. He said to Crony, the crow, "How good looking you are. Your feathers are very shiny. Surely, your voice must also be very sweet. Please sing a song for me."

Crony was happy to hear the fox praising him and his voice. Crony, the crow opened his beak to sing and the piece of bread fell from his mouth on the ground. Fenny picked up the piece of bread quickly and ran away.

Crony was very sad as he lost his bread and he was still hungry.
